FAQS
Do you buy and sell used books?
We accept used books and offer store credit. Please bring no more than two bags or boxes at a time. Books must be in good condition (covers in tact, no missing pages) and should be current. We cannot accept dated materials such as older travel guides or computer manuals. Generally, we are looking for the type of books we typically sell: literary fiction, bio/memoir, cooking, art, music, gardening, history.
I'm a local author and would like my book to be sold at your store and to possibly schedule a reading. What should I do?
Please send us an email at narberthbookshop@gmail.com with information about yourself and your book. Self-published books are sold on a consignment basis only. We often cannot buy your books from a distributor nor can we buy them from online vendors. Do NOT send a copy of your book unless we request one. We are sorry, but we cannot return unsolicited submissions.
Do you have magazines and/or coffee?
No, I'm sorry. We don't offer either. We're a small shop and have to optimize book space.
Can we bring food/drink into the store or to store events?
You certainly may, but we ask that you refrain from bringing beverages in single use plastic bottles or anything red and sticky. We do not provide plastic cups or cutlery at our events. Please feel free to BYO beverage in a sustainable container!
Are dogs welcome?
Woof! (ruffly translated into "of course!")
Do you ship books?
Yes, we'll ship your books anywhere! Most media mail shipments within the lower 48 states are $6.50 or thereabouts.
Can I take photos in your store?
You may, but good bookstore manners dictate that you refrain from taking photos of our carefully crafted inventory with the intention of buying those books online. As you can understand, it's a indie bookstore pet peeve.
